Word Girl!

Jared's favorite cartoon right now is Word Girl.
Every time it comes on he has to crank it up and dance... he's got some good moves!

Chloe's Birth Announcement

I finally got all of them sent out so I thought I'd post the pics. Instead of spending a small fortune on a photographer, I decided to turn my bed into a photo shoot with a flannel sheet when she was 3 weeks old. They turned out better than I could have hoped! She is now 7 weeks old... where does the time go?! She did such a good job and I think the pics do a good job of showing her personality. Daddy wasn't so sure about all of the naked-ness but I think she was pretty modest... and adorable! =)
I designed two cards using the same poses but I couldn't decide which card I liked more so I had both printed so some of you got one or the other. Can't wait to do it again at 3 months... then she'll hopefully fit into some of the cute outfits that she was given.

Wind Blows!

Wednesday was quite possibly the crappiest day EVER as far as weather goes! It was about 95〫and the wind blew ALL day at about 60 mph. It was insane. The shingles on the roof of the back garage were flying off (see pic) and the ridge caps on the house (which aren't even a year old) were flipped up and flopping in the wind. Luckily we only had to replace one. I've never experienced anything like it. The air was hazy with dirt and the corn husks filled our yard. Keith was beyond pissed... lots of clean up to do. I forgot to take a pic of the yard.

You can kind of see them flipped up.

Back garage.

Dozer didn't even hear me walk up and snap this shot.

I resorted to doing my flower gardening in the garage that day. Good thing I waited to get this done... they would've been massacred in that wind. Chloe snoozed in the swing for over an hour while I worked. I think the hum of the wind lulled her to sleep. =)

Chloe - 1 Month

Little miss Chloe is one month old already! Where does the time go? She's such a happy baby. Very easy-going and can sleep through anything... good thing since her big brother likes to make lots of noise. She makes the cutest faces and noises when she's sort-of sleeping. Lots of grunting and groaning too... such a little lady! I could sit and watch her sleep for hours... and sometimes I do! =)

The back rest was more like a head rest for her.

I couldn't keep her propped up without the Bumbo so I just laid her down.

What a cute dress... thanks to the Brennans! =)

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day! We went to church and then had brunch at farm with the Beranek crew and then spent the rest of the day relaxing at home. We took a family picture... only took about 10 shots to get a good one... thanks again, Katie! Jared helped me open my gift when we got home. It was a 3 tier water fountain for the front yard and a decorative tree for the yard... haven't decided where to plant it yet.

Me and my kids... can't see Chloe but she's there!

Neighborhood entertainment

Just had to share this funny story. We were coming home from our usual Sunday brunch at the farm when we saw a little horse walking down our neighbor's driveway. We were going to call them and let them know but then the neighbor that was missing the horse came driving up to claim it. It was quite comical because they had to chase it down. They finally caught it and were towing it home from the window of the car. When they passed by our house our dog, Dozer, took off after it to harass it by barking and chasing after it from the ditch. I got a picture of it from the end of our driveway... picture isn't the greatest but you get the gist.

Hot Stuff

Grandma Deb gave us some Hosta plants to transplant so Jared and I planted them in the backyard. He calls them 'hot stuff'... gotta love his little translations!

Planting Beans

Keith started planting beans at the new farm that we started renting this year. Jared, Chloe and I took lunch to him and Grandpa Roger on Saturday. Jared had to 'help' them load the beans in the drill and then ride with for a few rounds. Chloe and I hung out in the car for about an hour until he was ready to go. I read my book and she napped!

No more training wheels!

When I picked up Jared from daycare on Friday afternoon he was trying to ride the bike without training wheels. I spent about 5 minutes running around the yard with him keeping him balanced. Then all of a sudden he went 10 feet by himself... then a little further... and then he had it figured out! It was so much fun to see! When we got home I had to take the training wheels off his bike and he's been practicing ever since.

I took a video with my camera (quality isn't the greatest) on Saturday afternoon in our backyard. He's been doing great. Now he just needs to figure out how to start on his own. Click on the link to view the video.

3 weeks!

Chloe is 3 weeks old already! She is such a good baby. Eat, sleep, eat, sleep... and when she is awake, she's pretty content checking everything out. She especially likes to watch her big brother. He's absolutely in love with her... always giving her kisses and hugs and finding her pacifier whenever she starts to fuss. Whenever he can't find her he asks "where's my baby?" I'm so glad that he's so good with her... there's a little jealousy for attention but that was expected. She's also very vocal when she wants to be... grunting and making funny noises... very ladylike!  Here are a few pics of her on her new play mat.
