Dentist Check-Up

Tuesday, October 19th...
Jared went in for his annual dental exam. He did great and was a perfect patient for the hygenist. He was excited to get a new toothbrush and the cool floss picks. He said he could just about take a nap. =)
Can you tell he was pretty comfy?!

18 months old

Sunday, October 10th....

Our little peanut turned 18 months old on 10/10/10

On Monday, the 11th, we took her to see Dr. Jorve for her check up. She's doing great and slowly, but surely growing. Here are her stats...

  • Weight: 21 lbs. 6 oz. (11%)
  • Length: 32" (62%)
  • Weight for Length: 6.7%
  • Head Circumference: 18.11" (35%)

To compare... One Year Check-up

.Since it was such a nice day, we had a little photo shoot outside. She even let me put her on the fence! She was a little nervous at first but then she thought it was pretty fun..

This one is my favorite... she's just a little doll!.

Chewing on a gourd... adorable as ever!.

She has the most adorable run... her little feet take itty-bitty steps. Love it!.

Just being silly...

Round Bales

Sunday, October 10th...
.
Roger and Kevin chop the corn stalks and make round bales for the cattle so we all got to help Keith pick up and haul them. I drove the truck and wagons around while Keith got them loaded. Chloe was loving it because she got to roam all over the cab while we putzed around the field. She was peeking out the moon roof and hanging out the window waving at Daddy. She even got a ride in the Bob Cat!
.
Of course, Jared had to be a monkey and climb on the bales.
.
Here they come... she's waving.

.

.
Morgan was getting bored staring at the back window so I put her on the front seat. She loved it!

Haunted Corn Maze

Saturday, October 9th...
.
Jared and I went to the Haunted Corn Maze at Domeier's farm. I was a little nervous about him getting scared since it's pretty dark but he LOVED it! Unfortunately his classmate, Brendan, didn't like it at all and cried almost the whole way through. I have to admit, they do a great job of surprising/scaring you!
.
Big smiles before going in...

.
Kristin (Mrs. Hillesheim) was one of the scarers. Shortly after this Brendan lost it.

Cereal

Saturday, October 9th...
.
Morgan has been very interested in food lately so I decided to give her cereal. She was excited until she realized that it wasn't very tasty. I'll have to try adding some apple sauce next time to sweeten it up.
.
Mmm... looks good! Here comes the first bite...

..
Maybe not so good.
.
.Chloe had to check out what was going on. She even wanted a taste too... and it didn't go over well. I offered her another spoon full and I got a big NO!

Kite Flying

Thursday, October 7th...

Jared's class got to spend an hour or so flying kites in the park so I took a long lunch to go watch. It was another gorgeous day but not for flying kites... there was no wind. It didn't seem to bother the kids... they just ran as fast as they could to try to get them in the air. Our niece, Lily, got her picture on the front page of The Journal. Her kite seemed to fly the best... or at least stayed in the air a little longer.

Sleepy Farmer

Wednesday, October 6th...

I picked up Jared after school and we went out to the field to do some chisel plowing for a few hours. His class missed "rest time" because of the field trip to the Fire Station so he was tired. After the 1st round, he needed to lay down. He made it one more round before passing out. Good thing I brought a pillow and blanket! =) He slept for about 2 hours in that spot.

Field Trip

Wednesday, October 6th...
.
I had the opportunity to chaperone Jared's Kindergarten class field trip to the Fire Station. It's only 3 blocks from school so we walked. It was an absolutely beautiful day for it! My camera batteries died so I didn't get as many pics as I had hoped to. A lot of them ended up blurry cuz I was trying to squeeze a few more pics in but the camera was not cooperating. I'm happy with the ones that I did get so I won't complain! =)

Checking out the fire pole. The kids were disappointed to find out that they don't use it anymore.

The firemen showed the kids all of the gear they have to wear.

5 months old!

My baby girl is 5 months old today!
Morgan is changing on a daily basis and we just love her to pieces.
Pretty soon she'll be sitting and eating cereal and getting ready to crawl.
She is an amazingly happy baby... she'll smile at almost anyone.
She loves watching Jared and Chloe and all of the kids at daycare.
She has discovered her voice... often sqealing with excitement.
She loves bath time... she kicks and splashes like a little fish.
She loves being outside and going for stroller rides.
She's wearing 6-9 month clothes... Chloe was walking when she wore that size. ;)
She is sleeping like a baby (no pun intended!)... usually through the night and for 10+ hours.
She is very easy-going... if I'm busy with the other 2 she just hangs out and watches.
She likes to eat... drinking well over 30 ounces of formula a day (6 oz. bottles)
She's an all-around joy to have around!!!
We love you, Moe Moe!

Potty

Chloe went potty in the potty chair last night!!! I sat her on it right before she got in the tub and she actually went! She'll be 18 months on the 10th so if this continues, we'll hopefully be out of diapers before she's 2! On that note... she is still wearing size 3 diapers. Morgan will be going to 3's in a few days when her 2's are gone. =) I think I had Jared in size 5 before he was done and he was 2 1/2 years old.

NUACS Pumpkinfest 2010

Sunday, October 3rd...

I took the kids out to Pumpkinfest again this year. We met Grandma Deb and Krystal & Ashlyn out there. Keith and Joe were both busy with field work so they missed out. It was a beautiful Fall day and we had a great time!

Grandma Deb with all of the kiddos

Grandma and Morgan

What a good big brother...

Jared struggling to hang on to Morgan... she's a handfull!

I tried really hard to get a cute pic of the 3 of them but it wasn't working. Too much other fun stuff to look at!

They had this massive pumpkin hollowed out for the kids to sit in... Jared said it was a little slimy.

Of course, Chloe had to try it too... not the look I was expecting. ;)

The cousins played this game together. They were supposed to find as many gold coins as possible in 30 seconds. Jared did well... announcing every coin he found.

Krystal would give Chloe a coin and she'd throw it right back in the pile of straw. That was more fun for her, I guess. =)

Each class makes a scarecrow... this is Jared's.

Train Ride!!!

Here they come. We were surprised that none of the kids tried to get out... must have been too much fun to want to bail out.

Hi!

Ashlyn in the caboose

Jared getting his wacky hair-do... gotta have the mohawk!

Brianna & Jared showing off their new Do's. It amazes me every time I see these two together. They're in the same grade (Jared's 5 months older) but the size difference is huge!

Where's Daddy?

Saturday, October 2nd...
Saturdays mornings are usually pretty predictable at our house. Keith gets up before the crack of dawn and goes to "work on stuff" at the farm. Usually it means tinkering with machinery for a while and then eating breakfast with his parents and drinking a pot of coffee with his dad while they discuss everything and anything about farming. For me, I usually try to sleep in as late as the kids let me. Anything after 7am is a treat! This particular Saturday, Chloe decided she was ready to rock-n-roll at 6:15. I tried to cuddle with her but she wasn't having it. She'd say "Da-da" and point outside. I tried telling her that "da-da" wasn't out there but she wasn't having it. So I gave in and put her hat and boots on so she could go outside and look for herself. It was chilly! I had to grab the camera on the way out the door... she'll love me for it some day, I'm sure! ;)
