Chloe's New Bike

Chloe won a bike at the Brown County Fair! I had to laugh when the lady called and asked how old she was. Ummm... 4 months old. Well, at least she's not too big for it! Jared was upset that he didn't win one but I reminded him that he might get one for his birthday or Christmas.

All of the bikes in the pic were prizes... very nice!

Jared LOVES Hermann... we used to have to roll down the window of the car when we drove by and say "Hello" or "Good night!" to Hermann. Grandpa Jim even made up a song about him.

4 Month Check Up

I totally forgot to post about this... oops! Really need to spend some time blogging.

Chloe went in for her 4 month check up on Friday (8/14) which was also my birthday. I took the whole day off and had fun with the kids at the fair. She's still long and lean and doing great! Happiest baby ever! =)


Here are her stats:

• 13 pounds 5 ounces (40%)
• 24.75" long (67%)
• 15.75" head circumference (21%)

Pedal Pull

Jared competed in 2 Pedal Pulls recently. Friday (8/14) at the Brown County Fair in New Ulm and Saturday (8/15) at the Nicollet County Fair in St. Peter. He got 1st both times!!! I think he was more excited about the trophies than anything. He also did them both bare foot and had on his bucket hat... what a goof ball! Maybe that was the trick. :-)

I didn't have my camera at either (bad Mom, I know) but I did video the one in St. Peter. Now I just have to figure out how to get those videos onto my computer. The NU Journal had a ton of pics of all of the kids so check out the links below. I still need to take a pic of him with his trophies. 

Since he got first place, he qualified to go to the State Pedal Pull in Hutchinson on September 12th. If he does well there, he could go to Nationals in Mitchell, South Dakota. Who knew it was such a big deal?!

Happy Baby!

Chloe was watching Jared eat his breakfast and he was being silly, as usual. She giggles at everything he does... it's so cute!

Farm Fest

Keith and I decided to take the kids to Farm Fest at the Gilfillan Estate near Redwood Falls last Wednesday. Jared was SO excited!!! The boys climbed on and played in tons of machinery and equipment. Chloe and I followed them around and snapped a few pictures. She was in a great mood, as usual!  

An old 2 row combine that was pimped out.

 

 

It had tunes built into the rear end.

 

The Lexion (CAT) Combine. This one was Jared's favorite... cuz it looked cool. (And because John Deere didn't have any equipment there)

 

The Massey Ferguson. Or as Jared pronounces.... "Nasty Ferguson". 

Chloe decided to take a little snooze on Dad.

Pedal Pull! Ages 3 up to 11. Jared got 4th out of 11 4-year-olds. He was disappointed that he didn't get a trophy... maybe next year!

The BEAST! 10 row self-propelled chopper... amazing! It has 2 engines that put out 800 horse power combined. You just don't see stuff like this everyday!

This thing had a serious lift kit! Jared liked the passenger seat with backrest.

Jared's first trip to Farm Fest when he was about 7 months old and we did the same kind of picture. Now I have to get on the old computer and find it.

And of course Miss Chloe had to get in on the fun!
