Daddy Shot a Deer!

November 4th...

Deer hunting has been a bit of a dry spell for a few years for Keith so everyone in our house was petty excited when we found out he finally shot a deer! Of course, we had to load up and go to the farm to see it right away.
 

Jared is very diligent about wearing blaze orange during hunting season so he doesn't get shot. It's hard to keep a straight face when he's so serious about it but it's not like he's out wandering around in the woods... but ya never know! ;) He was concerned that Chloe and I didn't have any orange on when we went to the farm. I assured him that it's illegal to hunt after dark and that we would be just fine. :)

'Driving' Grandma's 4020

The best part is the story about how he got it. Craig sent Keith a text to let him know that he saw it and it was heading his way. When the deer got close enough, Keith shot it and it went down right away. He walked up to it and realized that he just grazed the buck's head and pretty much just knocked it out. He finished it off with a shot to the heart. Not a 'mounter' but we'll take it! Way to go, Daddy!

October 31st...

It was a beautiful day for Halloween. Slightly warm and sunny. Perfect! I got lucky this
year and only had to buy Jared's costume. Chloe picked one of her dress-up outfits
and Morgan wanted to wear Chloe's witch costume from last year so that was easy!

Halloween Parade at School

October 31st...

Jared's school has a Pumpkin Parade for the K-2 students on Halloween so they can show off their costumes. It was like watching a fashion show... their name and costume are announced and they walk to center stage, spin around and walk off. Some of them really get into character so it's pretty entertaining for the adults!

October 8th...



It was Fire Prevention Week so the NUFD sent a ladder truck and fire fighters to visit our class. The kids thought it was pretty neat... until I tried to take a picture of Chloe with her best bud, MaKenna. Chloe got bumped and went into pout mode. It was quite comical so it was hard to keep a straight face. MaKenna wasn't phased one bit so it made it that much more hilarious.

She is SO my daughter. ;)

Pumpkinfest

October 7th...

We went to the annual Pumpkinfest at Domeier's farm. The best part... Daddy got to come with this year! For the first (and probably last) time he was completely done with harvest.

 My kids' favorite thing to do is ride the train...

September 6th...

We brought lunch out to Keith in the field. I got to do a few rounds of digging while he ate.


I tried to talk him into taking the kids home and I could take over for a few hours but he didn't think that was such a good deal. Relax in the tractor vs. quality time with the little monsters. Ha! It was worth a try ;)
