Family Farming Day

October 9th...

It was a beautiful day to combine corn! Our whole crew spent the afternoon in the field.

I'm driving the combine with Morgan. Keith and Chloe are in the grain cart...

Pictures turned out pretty good considering we were unloading on-the-go. ;)

She absolutely loved riding in the combine...

Chloe had to have her baby and her sippy cup...

As you can see, we did a lot of swapping to keep everyone awake
(Chloe is the only one that fell asleep for a few rounds in the combine).

Jared helped Grandpa Roger haul loads...

Haunted Corn Maze

October 7th...

I took Jared and Brianna to the Haunted Corn Maze Friday night. It's a fundraiser for NUACS (their school) and it's at the same farm that has Pumpkinfest. Shari watched the girls for me. She had her hands full but it sounds like everyone had fun! Jared was so excited to go that he made his own scary mask to wear. What a goof ball!

They found their class scarecrow on the path to the maze...

It took a few seconds for them to calm down and pose for the picture...

October 4th...

...to the Helget Farm we go!

We moved all of the equipment over to the farm that we rent near Hanska. It was quite the event... Grandpa Roger, Jared & Chloe were in the combine. Keith and Morgan followed with the tractor and grain cart. I was in the pick-up pulling the bean head and Patty followed in our minivan so we could get a ride home. :)

We had time to take a few pictures while the guys were getting everything situated...

Grandma Patty was making popping noises with her finger in her mouth
to get them to look and smile. The girls were trying to mimic her...

He covered every square inch of machinery in about 3 minutes...

And then it was okay to take a picture with his sisters...
