June 25th...
As you can see on the video, we were hit pretty hard by the hail storm. I think they were about the size of baseballs but they were melting quickly by the time I felt safe enough to run out and grab a few. It hailed for about 30 minutes straight. I've never heard anything like it. We decided it was best to head down to the basement when it got really bad so I grabbed my computer and camera... my valuables. Jared heard me and started bringing his collector tractors out of his room (in the basement) to keep by us. He was worried about his valuables too! =)
We were surprised we didn't have any broken windows on the house. Keith's farm car wasn't so lucky. The rear window was shattered. We didn't think the storm was going to be that bad so we didn't park the farm vehicles in the shed... not so smart. The adjuster came and we'll be getting new shingles on the house and back garage. The siding on the north and east side of the house will also be replaced. We're still waiting to hear what they're going to do about the shed roof. That was replaced 3 or 4 years ago. The house was re-done 2 years ago. So frustrating.
Front yard (before it got really bad)
Melting hail...
Leaves were beaten out of the trees
The corn field east of us.
The bean field north of us.Steel entry door to our garage (north side)
The pitiful Geo... it takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'!
Our garden. Those used to be nice looking onions.
